Core Terms
Subject
Subject — the bearer of a distinguishable identity and the source of action within the model.
This word must not automatically be replaced by “user.”User may be a separate role, while Subject is a more general architectural primitive.
Structure
Structure — the published description of the admissible form of an object and of its admissible behavior in the network. The term is disclosed in detail in the section system-primitives.
Every object exists as an instance of a specific Structure Version, that is, an immutable published version of the structure.
Structure Properties
Structure Properties — system-significant features that define the object's behavior.
It is through them that a stable Object Mode, that is, the character of the object's admissible behavior, is read in the architecture.
Object
Object — the basic addressable unit of coordination in the Realith network.
The object always exists as an instance of a specific structure version.
Object Version
Object Version — a canonically distinguishable version of an object within a causal line.
Active Version
Active Version — the version of the object that, in the current canon, is considered valid for further coordination.
Transition
Transition — an admissible change in the line of the object.
Causal Basis
Causal Basis — the basis on which a new transition is built.
Relation
Relation — a typed connection between objects that matters for the canon.
Relations may express origin, composition, dependency, confirmation, derivation, and other meaningful connections.
Contour
Contour — the regime of the coordination environment that defines participation, visibility, isolation, and applicability of rules.
Contour must not be confused with a folder, a multi-tenant model, or a simple namespace.
